Like most other makeup lovers, when I first saw the Too Faced Sweet Peach palette, I immediately wanted to snag it up. Since my last no-buy though I have been much more conscious about what makeup I purchase. I already love and use the original Chocolate Bar everyday, so I thought I’d just buy a single peach shadow and work that into a look instead of another palette. The color was a little hard to capture, but in the swatch below you can see just how gorgeous ColourPop’s Cheeky is:

Top: Pink shade in the Chocolate Bar Palette | Middle: ColourPop Cheeky | Bottom: Transition shade in the Chocolate Bar Palette

Here’s how to get a super easy look in 5 easy steps:

1. Work your transition shade in the crease. Like I said earlier, if you have your neutrals, all you really need is a single peach eyeshadow to get a coral inspired look.

2. I like to apply ColourPop shadows with my finger. Apply Cheeky to the center of your lid.

3. Optional: smudge eyeliner along your lash line. Then add lots of mascara

4. I take a little of that transition shade on my lower lash line for a little extra definition

5. Finish off with a coral blush and gloss! I used Benefit Coralista and the Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Pango Peach.

Special thanks to my Dad for being my photographer!

Sitting down to write this post, I feel very lucky. Since today is Thanksgiving (it will be Friday when you’re reading this), I just want to say how thankful I am for you. I’ve been presented with so many exciting opportunities because of everyone that follows this blog of mine and I am very thankful for your support.

Now, let’s talk about the products that that helped with my face this month!

November Favorites | Bolt Blogs

The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist: I absolutely love the Vitamin E line from The Body Shop. I definitely need to do an in depth review of this line. The packaging says to use this to set makeup, but I’ve been using it before I apply makeup and in-betwen layers to help everything mesh together and look natural. It’s a very fine mist and I really like the rose scent.

L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga – Waterproof: WOW! Seriously this stuff is no joke. I have never been wowed like this with a mascara before. You can see my tweet here showing just how crazy it makes my lashes look.

ColourPop Stole the Show: I’ve been on a Champagne Pop kick but got back into this highlighter this month and hit pan! You can see a swatch of the color here.

elf Berry Merry Blush: This blush kind of reminds me of a fall version of Nars Orgasm. It’s a super pretty rose and is very highlighting as well. It’s a little deeper than Benefit Rockateur and they’re in the same color family if that’s a helpful reference point. It’s very pigmented, so use a fluffy brush and light hand. Thank you for this gorgeous blush, elf!

BareMinerals 5 in 1 BB – Blushing Apricot: My mom passed this along to me from her own makeup bag and I am very lucky she did. She decided to steer away from this because of the shimmer. It’s just enough that it might  accentuate fine lines on mature skin. This primer does a great job neutralizing my lid, something I never knew I really wanted until I tried the L’Oreal Magic De-Crease…

L’Oreal Magic De-Crease: When I finished my Nars eyelid primer, I knew it’d be hard to find something to beat it but didn’t want to spend the money on the Nars again. I tried this because I had a L’Oreal coupon and am really impressed with how well it works. While I notice a little creasing around the 4-5 hour mark, there isn’t any visible oil, just a little line in my shadow  (I have oily and hooded lids so it’s a difficult combo). What’s really sold me on this though is that it seems to color correct a little on my lids too, which I really like.

Phew, all done! Lots of favorites this month so thanks for sticking with this post if you’re still here. I hope all of you had a great month and holiday. Now on to December! xoxo

June! Ah! If you came over from Instagram, you’ll know I said it wasn’t a huge makeup month for me but let’s check out what I was into!

June Favorites 2015 | Bolt Blogs

Harvey Prince Hello: This stuff came in a Birchbox and when I ran out of the sample I just had to buy more. It is a beautiful scent and so nice for everyday.

Benefit Hoola: An oldie but a goodie is back!

Rimmel Stay Matte – Translucent: I’ve been shiny this month and not in a good way so this has been awesome.

Colour Pop – Bill: This matte shadow is so pretty and can take on pink, plum, or taupe depending on how you layer it.

Colour Pop – Stole the Show: This highlight is not for the subtle, but it is stunning.

Eco Tools Fan Brush: I’ve been using this to apply my bronzer and have really been loving how it looks. Really fun brush to have!

Happy Weekend! I meant to get this post up yesterday but…ya know life happens! Anyway, in my last elf haul I got the Matte Lip Color in Tea Rose because my sister said she liked these but I believe she has a different color. I thought I’d compare it to other similar products I have in my collection:

Matte Lip Colors | Bolt Blogs

elf Matte Lip Color: This pencil is a little thicker compared to the other formulas and I found it to be a little more drying, but nothing unbearable. If you have patchy lips, the color might cling. I’d moisturize in the morning and let it sit while you do the rest of your makeup before this goes on. I can see how some people say it feels a little thicker but if you are a regular lipstick wearer or comfortable with matte lips, I wouldn’t foresee this as a big problem. Keep in mind, it’s only $3 if it doesn’t work out.

ColourPop Lippie Stix (Matte): I’m a big fan of the Lippie Stix. I have Lumiere and Flawless in the matte formula and both are very nice. They are extremely pigmented and I think go on slightly more evenly than the elf. I got about 5 hours of solid wear without touch-ups. These are $5 and there is the cost of shipping (free $30+) so that’s just something to keep in mind. But I would highly recommend the products, you can read about my other ColourPop products here.

Nars Matte Lip Pencil: I love this formula and I have the shade Cruella. I wore this ALL DAY on my 21st birthday and only retouched once. I think it went for about 7 hours and that was through eating and drinking. This is obviously a pricey product (I have a mini but the full size is $26), but if you are looking to treat yourself and like matte lips, I would still pop for this this. My lips did need a nice thick balm and the end of the day and I had to wear lipgloss when I went out at night, but they were not destroyed the next day.

Happy Sunday! I hope all of you have had a great weekend. I had a nice surprise in the mail yesterday when I got my Colour Pop order that wasn’t supposed to arrive until tomorrow! I finally caved and made my first order when I saw the FREE shadow ‘Birthday Girl’ because it is just so stunning. Look up a video on Instagram because my swatch doesn’t even begin to do it justice. Let’s see what I ordered!

When you make your first order you get $5 off so make sure to sign up for that and wait for the email to come…it took about a half hour for me.

Colour Pop Lippie Stix Swatches - Lumiere, Button, Flawless | Bolt Blogs

The color shown in the tube is a little off but the swatches are true to color. Lumiere is stunning and I’m so happy I got it. It’s definitely a color right up my alley. Button is the most flattering peach I have ever tried on. Most peach shades look terrible on my skin tone but this one doesn’t make me look washed out at all. Flawless is…flawless. I’m so excited to rock this deep pink/purple.

Colour Pop Stole The Show, Prenup Swatches | Bolt Blogs

When the highlighters launched recently, I immediately knew I wanted one. I ended up with Stole the Show, which has a few flecks of real shimmer. I’m weary of saying “glitter” because people might freak out but this shade is not for the faint of heart. The blush is the most beautiful pink shade with a bit of rose and some shimmer.

Colour Pop Birthday Girl | Bolt Blogs

Not to be dramatic, but I’m an English major and I don’t even have words for this

Bill and Birthday Girl

Colour Pop Birthday Girl, Bill Swatches | Bolt Blogs

Like I said, my swatches aren’t doing these shades justice, but you get a general idea of the colors. Bill is a really pretty cool-toned matte plum. On my lid, it veered more pink initially but I layer a taupe shade on top and it was beautiful.

Tell me, what are your favorite Colour Pop colors?
