Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2018 HAUL

Juuuust in case you haven’t heard about it enough, the #NSale is officially underway! Some people get excited about Christmas, I get excited about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! This is my favorite sale of the year and I stayed up quite late last night to start my shopping. I decided to do things a little differently this year and instead of showing you a best-of guide, I’m just showing you my real-life purchases (which for the most part are pretty boring).

WHEN TO SHOP

BEST BUYS

I like to attack the sale by adding everything to my cart, then narrowing it down. Start with things you know you need, like a new pair of gym shoes or a winter coat, then add in things that would be nice to have. Once you’re finished, whittle down your cart to fit your budget. Remember, Nordstrom also has free shipping and returns!

I personally think the best categories for the sale are:

  • Jackets and shoes: Since the sale includes NEW FALL items, it’s great to stock up on outerwear, sweaters and boots for fall and winter.
  • Beauty: The beauty bundles really are a great value. When sales like this happen, I always like to grab 2-3 extra beauty or candle sets to keep around the house for last minute birthday or hostess gifts (I get it from my mama).
  • Staples: If you exclusively use certain products on a daily basis, like the Philosophy Purity Cleanser, now’s a great time to stock up! Save money on your staples while you can.

When it comes to the sale, it really is in your best interest to act fast and I’m not just saying that. I still dream about that Topshop striped cardigan everyone and their mother got last year that I hesitated on, and it the next thing I knew, it was gone forever…

WHAT I BOUGHT

Zella Live In High Waist Crop Leggings ($36 normally $55): My first pair of Zella leggings are 4, maybe 5 years old, and still look like new. I personally think they are the best leggings out there and have purchased them full price, but the sale is always better!

Nike Sportswear Rally Joggers ($45 normally $60): Shocker! Nicole buys another heather grey item. I have these pants in black in a large and love them so much, I’m gonna snag them in grey. I’m going with a medium for this pair so they’re a little more fitted so I could style them with a tee and leather jacket.

Caslon Peplum Top ($33 normally $49): I’m a sucker for a good peplum.

Charlotte Tilbury The Gift of Magic Glowing Skin Set ($75): This set includes a full size Wonderglow ($55) and a travel size of the Magic Cream and Magic Night Cream. I’m obsessed with watching Charlotte Tilbury tutorials (“Apply your moisturizer in angel wing motions, darling!”) and have NEVER purchased anything from the line ($$$) so I’m super excited to try out this set!

Nordstrom CZ Stud Earrings ($26 normally $46): My everyday Kate Spade studs are getting a little cloudy and I’ve read great reviews on these earrings.

Iluminage Skin Rejuvenating Pillow ($39 normally $60): I purchased one of these last year and love it so much I’m getting a second for when it’s laundry day. Normally I have a same-day turnaround with this pillow case I love it so much, so I’m happy to have a second in the rotation.

Not on sale, but I purchased anyway:

I’m using today as my Triple Points day for the year, so I also included some things in my order that I needed to pick up anyway and wanted to get the extra points in. Whatever day you decide to do the majority of your shopping, it’s a great time to use your 3x day to reap all the rewards aka Nordstrom Notes.

Treasure & Bond Burnout Boyfriend Tee: I bought one of these on a whim a few weeks ago and it is the softest tee I’ve ever worn. I’m grabbing two more in white and charcoal because they are lightweight and perfect for layering

Smeg Retro Toaster: This is a big splurge, but I’m obsessed with this toaster and yes, you don’t have to tell me how ridiculous it is. I’m aware.

PHEW! WE MADE IT! Someone brew me up a pot of coffee because honey I’ll NEED it today! I’ll keep you updated on how things are selling, as well as do another post when the sale goes public!
