I got weddings on the brain lately! Two people very close to me have recently gotten engaged and I’ve been excited to think about all things old, new, borrowed and blue!
Since weddings can get real pricey real quick, even for attendees, I wanted to round up some of my favorite engagement gifts under $30 so you can spoil the recently engaged without breaking the bank:
Fun Goodies: You know your BFF best, so pick something that is unique to her.
In all honesty, I think a lot of bridal apparel can be cheesy, but I think this tee is super cute and simple. This whole etsy shop is actually amazing and I want to buy 10 of these plumusa tees. This Engaged AF one is super cute as well.
Grab her a necklace with the initial of her new last name in silver, gold or rose gold.
While this gift may seem generic, hear me out. Scent is one of the biggest triggers for memory. I’ve talked about how I always try to get a new trial-size scent when I go on a vacation so that way, I’ll always associate that scent with that trip. Get her a candle that she will always associate with the period she first got engaged.
Planners/Journals: If you’re an avid Friday Bride-day watcher on TLC (or if you’ve ever planned a wedding), you’ll know that the worst part about planning a wedding is just figuring out what you don’t know about planning a wedding. Help her out:
The Knot is basically the Holy Grail of all things weddings, so get all of the checklists she’ll need in one.
The full title on this one really sells it for me: A Step-by-Step Guide to Creating the Wedding You Want with the Budget You’ve Got (without Losing Your Mind in the Process)
You really can’t get any more iconic than a Kate Spade bridal item. Write it all down.
I love the idea of a prompted notebook. I made my boyfriend a timeline journal from our first year of dating and it’s so fun to read through now. I think this would be a great gift for a bride-to-be for her and her hubbs or wife to look back on (vegan leather too!)
Mugs: Yes, the recently engaged will feel compelled to Instagram her new ring (duh), so why not help her out with a prop?
DIY: For all of you DIYers out there, decorating a bottle as a bride (this is also a great bridesmaids gift or photo prop for bachellorette parties. You can decorate a bottle of wine, the bride’s favorite liquor, or sparkling lemonade as a non-alcoholic option (The Trader Joe’s Sparkling Pink Lemonade is my personal favorite).
Supplies: Gems, beads, tulle, ribbon and anything that sparkles. My cousin’s favorite color is hot pink, hence the fuschia:
As soon as my cousin got engaged I knew I wanted to decorate a bottle of Malibu Rum since the bottle is already white and it’s one of her favorites. Excluding the alcohol, all of the decorations were around $15 (you could probably get an even better price with coupons).
Bridal and boozy! Happy engagements to the recently engaged and happy shopping!
