YSL Vinyl Cream Lip Stain Review

I purchased my first YSL product back in February and fell in love. I have the YSL Volupte Tin-In-Oil #5 and it is beautiful. When I received this YSL Viny Cream Lip Stain to try from Influenster, I couldn’t wait to give it a whirl. For starters, I think I was slightly disappointed because in my mind, the name doesn’t match the product. I was imagining a hydrating creamy formula, not a high-shine gloss. However, the color Rose Mix is beautiful.

YSL Rose Mix Swatch

Clearly I am quite excited here. As you can see in my glasses, I have a new light to try out for photos, so that’s also contributing to the excitement.

The first thing I noticed about this is the scent. It is very floral but wears off after a little bit. The color goes on smoothly and you only need to apply one coat. This color is not streaky at all, although I can’t speak for other colors in the line.

YSL VINYL LIP CREAM SWATCH

I had a swatch on my arm for a few minutes and when I wiped it off with a makeup wipe, it did leave a little stain. There is transfer with this product and you will have to reapply after eating. This did not fade evenly for me and left a ring of color around the outside of my lips as it wore.

This product is pretty, just not what I expected. I don’t think it’s worth the $36 and if you want to try something extremely similar, give the Revlon ColorStay Moisture Stains a try.
