Brow gel: It will change your life if you don’t do anything to your brows already. If your new to makeup and brows, but want to add a little something, brow gel is the way to go. It’s mascara for your brows and will really help to frame your face.
Cost – Benefit: $24 for .10 oz; L’Oreal: (price varies) $6.99 for .27 oz
Color – The Benefit is a touch cooler with slight grey tones. The L’Oreal is more of a chocolate brown
Wand – I don’t think the length of the want has any effect on the application but I know the size of the brush does. I didn’t want to get the Maybelline Brow Drama because I had a feeling I wouldn’t like that ball wand. Both the Benefit and the L’Oreal have the same shape to the wand but the L’Oreal is slightly larger. You can still use the smaller end of the brush for a more precise application
Performance – Both easily define and darken brows. I think that the L’Oreal has a stronger hold (which I like because my left brow can get a bit unruly) but the Benefit might add a little more with the fibers.
Verdict – L’Oreal wins for me. It is 1/4 of the cost and it performs just as well. I still would pick up the gimme brow if I had a gift card but for the price, I just can’t justify it. Thank you, Drugstore.
This post came at a great time– I’ve been wanting a new brow gel, but can’t bring myself to spend Sephora prices when I know I can go from looking too-natural to shot-with-a-makeup-rifle-set-to-clown in an instant. And the Maybelline wand looked like a big no. Definitely going to try L’Oreal!
Oh my gosh that made me laugh 😂 yes I really like the L’Oreal a lot and while the Benefit is nice for a treat, here the drugstore gets it done just fine 👍🏼
I absolutely love Gimme Brow, but as soon as L’Oreal brought their Brow Artist out I bought it and preferred it. Plus, it’s (as you say) 1/4 of the price…WIN WIN!
So excited that you compared these two! I’ve been wanting to try the L’Oreal, but wasn’t sure what it would be like. Great review! http://wp.me/p65oNU-4P
Hope it works for you! Thank you!
