April Favorites 2015

April was pretty great for makeup! I got a few new things and have been having a little more fun with my daily makeup. Sometimes makeup can get monotonous but you don’t always need new products to spice things up. It’s fun to use things in a way you hadn’t previously (i.e. this luminizer) to get a fresh take on old favorites!

Smashbox Primer Water: I bought this so quickly after it was on my Spring Wish List. Worth. The. Hype. My boyfriend said, “It’s just water.” False. I think it really adds extra hydration and I like that it primes my skin without an extra layer of physical primer, which is perfect for summer.

Buxom Divine Goddess Luminizer: This highlight isn’t enough for me on it’s own because I like to mildly look like a disco ball. However, this is absolutely beautiful mixed in with my BB Cream or Foundation. It is so subtle and just looks beautiful.

Beauty Blender Micro Mini: I’ve been on a huge BB kick this month and love my mini for highlighter and concealer.

Soap & Glory – Nudist: I bought this when all of the Soap & Glory things went on sale on Sephora. Gabby on YouTube talks a lot about this and I love it! It is the perfect glossy nude. I top it off with the Revlon gloss when I want even more shine. (Unsure where to buy Soap & Glory while they make a transition to the drugstore…hopefully soon!)

Physician’s Formula Shimmer Strips – Vegas Strip: I picked this up on a whim a little while back when there was a PF deal at CVS and boy am I glad I did. These golden colors are very complimentary for blue eyes and this is a no-joke highlighter. I’m working with the top portion right now but *hopefully* if I can manage to get a little darker over the summer, the bottom shades will be perfect.

elf Studio Contouring Blush & Bronzing Cream: I have a full contouring pictorial here on Sparkles & Secrets (I guest blog over there) so check out how I use this bad boy.

Hi! I have been using benefit’s They’re Real for the past two months and really like it. Unfortunately, my tube dried out really fast. Is there a drugstore mascara you like that is similar to They’re Real? I don’t want to have to replace an expensive mascara every few months 😆

Hi, Anna! I don’t know of any dupes specifically for They’re Real, but my favorite drugstore mascara is Covergirl’s Clump Crusher (water resistant). It too has a plastic wand, which I like, and provides good volume with 2 coats, and also separates. The brushes are not similar in shape. Hope that helps!
