Makeup Purge

I went through my collection and cleared out a few items that I don’t use. I got rid of a bunch of lip products too in the beginning of my no-buy but didn’t think to save them. Here’s what’s going:

Makeup Purge

e.l.f. Mineral Eyeshadow Bases: This irritate my eyes terribly. My eyelids get itchy and my eyes watery. I thought “Oh maybe one day they won’t bother me…” No, Nicole. Garbage.

NYX Single Eyeshadow in Sparkle Cedar: I never reach for this color and it isn’t the best pigmentation wise.

Physician’s Formula Happy Booster Translucent: I rarely use this highlight and I got something very exciting from Sephora so hopefully I won’t need this anymore!

Maybelline The Nudes Palette: I wanted to like this palette but it just falls short. There are only two shades I really like but it isn’t worth keeping around just for those.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara: I’m so torn about this mascara. I loved the volume but it smudged way too easily on me. I haven’t used it in a little while now because it’s too old but I never used it much when it was in my drawer.

Benefit Porefessional: I used to love this but I use a drugstore primer more. More to come on this next week in my Flawless Face post!

Covergirl Intense Shadowblast Eye Shadow: I used to swipe this on my eyes just for a little something on a no-makeup day but it’s getting old.

The Body Shop Bonzer: I lied to all of you. I’m sorry. This was way back in my first Empties post, but for some reason I didn’t throw it out. It’s gone now, I promise.

That’s it! It may not be much but it did free up some space. If feels good to purge! Fall cleaning πŸ˜‰

Love this! It’s always good to reevaluate your makeup collection every so often, and it always feels good to get rid of or give away things we don’t need. Oh, and make room for new products of course… πŸ™‚

Yes it was nice to do! And definitely needed to make a tad bit of room for my new goodies from the VIB sale πŸ˜‰

Anxious to know about your drugstore primer!!!

Dang I really want the Nudes Palette. I think I would really like it if it had it. I love the Porefessional primer but I’m curious what you use that’s comparable.

I wanted to like the Nudes Palette too. If you’re used to creamier shadows like Too Faced or Lorac I don’t know that you’ll be a fan overall. The metallic in the palette are much better than the mattes. I think Wet ‘n Wild Shadows are much better as far as drugstore quality goes. Hope that’s helpful!

Nice. I need to do this too πŸ™‚ It always feels good to clear stuff out.

Ugh, I hated the Nudes palette! The pigmentation wasn’t great at all and some of the shades were too close to some of the other ones so it felt like there wasn’t enough variety. I threw mine out too (and I only used it once or twice). Such a waste of $10!
