#FailFriday

Normally, I don’t have may fails.  I do a lot of research on products, even drugstore. If I see something I like, I will stand there and look up swatches and reviews before I throw it in my basket.

A lot of times, stores will still let you return, but I figure to save the time and money,  look it up before you buy it. These are some products that didn’t work for me, although they may work for you!

Here’s the first edition of #FailFriday

IMG_5101Up & Up Dual-Treatment Moisturizer: This Target’s version of the Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturizer. Target’s brand works well a lot of times, so I thought I’d give it a try. For some reason, this moisturizer was extremely drying on my skin. I know it has the salicylic acid, but the Clean & Clear never made my skin as dry as this version did

Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede: I have the shades Womenswear (pink) and Backstage (deep red). This product was drying and just didn’t wear well over time on my lips. I’ve somewhat made them work, by using them to add a hint of color with but overall, they aren’t something I reach for. (If you do like them, I provided a link for Target where they are on sale right now)

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer: I know I know I know. For a lot of people, this is a Holy Grail. I hate it for my under-eyes. It cakes up on me, and most say they like it because it doesn’t. I like it for highlighting down my nose and forehead, but it definitely was not a winner for me (color fair).

Maybelline MasterShape Eyebrow Pencil: This color isn’t a perfect match for me (soft brown) but I also don’t like a pencil for my brows. I like something waxier.

Nivea A Kiss of…Smoothness and Olive Oil & Lemon: I got these lip balms because TiffanyD is always RAVING about them. Maybe my lips are just too used to eos and Burt’s Bees, but these made my lips feel try after an hour or so.

e.l.f Lip Definer & Shaper: I talked about this product in a previous e.l.f. Haul. The lip liner isn’t as creamy as I’m used to and the highlight side is too shimmery.

e.l.f. Studio Concealer: I also talked about this in that same e.l.f. Haul. It is too orange, but somewhat works if I mix it with a bit of moisturizer.

Almay Concealer: I bought this because it looked like a dupe for Benefit’s boi-ing eye bright compact. I liked the brightening side but never used the concealer side. I didn’t get to enjoy it for very long though because it dried out very fast.

Ulta Glitter Eye Liner: I got this during the Holidays. I actually liked the purple color, but the black didn’t wear as well and the sparkles in the black looked too harsh versus the purple.

Maybelline Color Tattoo Tough as Taupe: I love these, but this color creases on me a lot. My other two don’t. Even with a primer, it still creases. Maybe it’s just me? Anyone else?

Thoughts? Let me know. Have a great weekend!

Sorry to hear about you not liking your recent product purchases. I know what a bummer it is to spend money on something you end up not liking. I use Maybelline Twin Eyebrow Pencils in Blonde, have been for years and they are just the right color for me. When you look for them in the store they come in a pack of 2 and are red. 🙂

Maybe I just need a different color…that probably makes all the difference!

Aww it’s a pity you don’t like the Instant Rewind concealer! I love this product though and I have repurchased it again and again. Maybe you can apply a little bit of serum/oil free moisturizer under your eyes before you put the concealer on to prevent it from caking up?

I wish I’ve tried it all! Thank you for you suggestions. I do really like it for my face, though. I would repurchase it for that, or I think they make one specifically for blemishes too

I have that Maybelline Color Tattoo. I love the color and texture (doesn’t crease on me) but the color is too cold for my skintone i feel like it doesn’t suit me.:/

Yeah, I’m not sure why this color creases when my others don’t. Maybe give the new Leather collection a try…it has similar looking neutrals

I wanna try it but it didn’t come to my country yet 🙂

I agree with the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer. I’ve tried so hard to like it but it just doesn’t look right. I keep going back to the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer.

Good to know I’m not alone! I’ve heard good things about that concealer!
