I’ve been on a kick lately of trying to use up product. I’m overflowing a bit right now with samples/travel size products so I’m trying to use them up. While I was able to get more than one use out of some of these products, for the most part this is a first impressions. There were some things I really liked and others I washed off my face after putting them on…

All of these products were really great, but there were a few standouts:

  • Guerlain Lingerie de Peau Foundation and BB Cream: I was hoping I wouldn’t like these because of the price tag, but they were absolutely gorgeous. The foundation didn’t have the best wear time and started breaking up around the 4-5 hour mark, but I didn’t really mind because of how naturally it faded and broke up. It didn’t turn splotchy or gross. If I were to buy one, I’d probably go with the BB cream. Gorgeous coverage.
  • Bobbi Brown Hydrating Face Cream: Simply put, this just felt like luxury. The texture of this moisturizer was so unique, super soft, and overall felt like a dream.

These bottom two rows were terrible. Quick rundown:

Feels good to finally throw these away. Bye, samples. Until the next online order…

If you’re anything like me, you not only hate winter because of the cold, but also because of what it does to your skin. Nip+Fab was kind enough to send me their new Kale Fix Line, but before I talked about it I wanted to make sure I tried it out for a solid amount of time because skincare can be tricky. Overall, I’m a huge fan of this line, but let’s get into the specifics!

Nip+Fab Kale Fix Review | Bolt Blogs

A note on the whole line: All of the products have a very distinct scent, something a lot of people might not be a fan of. Definitely smells like kale, or baby food, or kale baby food. The scent goes away though, especially if you are laying makeup on top. The only time it might really bother you is with the mask while it’s sitting on your face.

Moisturizer: This moisturizer is super hydrating. If you have dry skin, this is amazing. Super rich and hydrating and feels very silky. I would recommend using a primer if you’re putting this moisturizer under makeup because it is so thick. I do need to touch up a little sooner than normal with this moisturizer, but would rather that than my skin look crepey. This moisturizer does not have an SPF, so be sure to add one.

Clay Mask: This mask is great if you have all over dry skin or have a dry patch. I normally put this on my cheeks and temples, where my dry skin tends to be the worst. I always have a little flaking on my temples (probably because this is an area easy to neglect when exfoliating) and this really helps to add some moisture back into my skin.

Make-Up Remover: I love these makeup remove pads, but really wish they came in a wipe. I normally had to use 2 to take off a full face of makeup, sometimes 3 if I had liquid eyeliner/matte lipstick. Otherwise, on an easy makeup day, 1 would do the job. The thing I like most about these is that after I took off my makeup, I didn’t necessarily feel like I needed to moisturize.

What’s your favorite dry skin savior? Let me know!

If there’s one thing I love, it’s my nighttime routine. Washing my face, maybe doing a mask, moisturizing…it really helps me unwind after a long day and it’s my way of treating my skin.

I picked up this Burt’s Bees Sensitive Night Cream on a whim when I ran out of my last one. After using it for awhile now, I think I have a good idea of the product.

Burt's Bees Night Cream

Right off the bat, I didn’t like this cream. It is very thin and runny. However, it’s still very moisturizing. It makes a decent night cream but I don’t know that it’s made a huge difference in my skin. I have found though that I like it best in the morning, actually. Foundation goes on over this moisturizer beautiful because it is so thin and lightweight.

I’m still using this as a night cream but I don’t know that I would repurchase.

Please tell me, what is your favorite night cream??

Happy first day of Fall! My wish lists are unintentionally alternating between ALL high end and ALL drug store! This is what I have my eye on…

Fall Wish List

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment – Honey: I have one in Berry that I got last winter and LOVE so I really want one for moving into the colder months that will work with everything.

Lorac Pocket PRO Palette: I am pretty darn simple with my eyes and it is rare that I use more than three colors (normally two) in an eye look. A lid color, a crease color, and a liner are what I really need. This little palette looks like the perfect “no-brainer” palette for everyday and travel.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette: Ohhhh I have had my eyes on these since they became all the rave a year or so ago. I would rather get the palette versus one just because I think it’s a better value and then you have more variety.

Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer: I am SO obsessed  and in love with the Radiant Creamy Concealer from Nars and I want to give this a try.

Those are the 4 things I will be lusting over this Fall. What’s on your Wish List right now??

IMG_2840 Products seem to go all at once! I have used up a lot of things recently and wanted to review what I have run out of.

REPURCHASECovergirl CG Smoothers BB Cream: This was the first tinted moisturizer I ever used because it was the tinted moisturizer my sister used (and I believe still does too!). It moisturizes well and gives very sheer coverage, but paired with my mineral foundation, it works well for everyday. I have seen this product’s packaging get three facelifts now

REPURCHASE |  NYX Cream Blush in 02 Natural: This is my favorite formula of cream blush that I have used. It has great staying power but is easily blendable. I like to stipple it on. My old one was just that…old, and it was time to go.

REPURCHASE |  True Blue Spa Super Softening Hand Lotion: I love this hand cream. The scent is delicious. I use it at night because it doesn’t absorb quickly and can leave the hands with that lotion-y feel. During the day, I like to use Vaseline Hand & Nail Conditioning Lotion.

I forgot to slip these in the master picture

REPURCHASE | Neutrogena Naturals Fresh Cleansing + Makeup Remover: This is my favorite face wash. It keeps my skin happy and removes ALL of my makeup.

REPURCHASE | e.l.f Makeup Mist & Set: If I get a little heavy handed on the powder, this setting spray does the trick. I have not used a high end setting spray but this seems to do the trick.

REPURCHASE | Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer: This has been my daily moisturizer for years now. It is hydrating and I really do feel like it calms my sensitive skin, just like it claims. I also like that it has SPF 15. I was contemplating the First Aid Beauty 5 in 1 Face Cream, but ended up falling back on something I know I already love.

REPLACEThe Body Shop Bronzing Powder: This bronzer is so old that it’s been discontinued. While it has been so good to me, it’s time to go.

On the recommendation of a fellow blogger, I went ahead and got Benefit’s Hoola bronzer. I had always been a little afraid of it because it looked to dark, but I tried it in the shop and loved it.

REPLACE | Olay Age Defying Anti-Wrinkle Eye Cream: I started using an eye cream when a wonderful hotel concierge made the suggestion. “Start now before the wrinkles come, honey!” Following his orders, I made this purchase and have again three times since. It is very hydrating and I can’t say that I have any complaints.

I’m not replacing because I don’t like this eye cream but I just want to change it up. I am replacing with Benefit’s It’s Potent! Eye Cream.

REPLACE | Lush Dream Cream: I bought this cream to dry and relieve my eczema. No prescription or over the counter lotion has ever relieved my symptoms. This cream did a fairly good job but I mainly just enjoyed how creamy it felt on my skin.

There are other creams I like just as much for all over the body that are less expensive. As far as my eczema goes, I am trying Gold Bond’s Ultimate Eczema Relief Lotion.

REPLACE | Benefit Instant Brow Pencil: This is my second one of this pencil. I like the waxy feel to the pencil and the color matches my brows well. They look defined without being overdone.

I wanted to change it up just because I’m getting more into my brows and wanted to see what was in the drugstore. I got the Maybelline Brow Pencil in soft brown.
