I’m the last person to board the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit Train. All of her Glow Kits are beautiful, but none have ever really stood out enough for me to buy. My normal go-to highlighters are Becca Opal, Champagne Pop when I’m a little more tan, and ColourPop’s Stole The Show. Since so many people were disappointed with the holiday Glow Kits I was a little nervous about this one, but something told me I had to go for it. Plus, Nicole sisters need to stick together.

I was lucky enough to snag this in stores before it launched thanks to an amazing associate at Sephora. I was so excited I didn’t even swatch it to test it out. I walked straight up to the counter and headed outside for a Boomerang. The packaging looks like cotton candy dumped in glitter. Sign me up.

In the pan, these shades look very glittery. I was nervous that they’d feel dry but these are some of the creamiest powders I have ever worked with. In most palettes there’s always one dud but all of these are buttery goodness.

I thought that Forever Lit would be my go-to shade but I’ve worn Forever Young almost every single day since I purchased this palette. To apply, I finish my makeup, generously apply my setting spray and then go in with my highlighter before it’s dry to really make everything pop. The other day one of my coworkers said she could see my highlighter from across the room – the highest compliment you can give a makeup junkie.

T-B: Kitty Kat | Forever Young | Daydream | Forever Lit | Glo Getter | 143

Kitty Kat and Forever Young are not as similar as they appear in the swatches. Kitty Kat has a touch more gold with a peach base and Forever Young has more silver with a neutral to cool base. Glo Getter and 143 are far too dark to ever be a highlighter on me but are stunning on the center of the lid.

In case you haven’t already figured it out, yes, the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit is absolutely worth the hype. If you can find a way to get your hands on it, run toward the register and don’t look back.

April Favorites 2016 | Bolt Blogs

NYX Dark Circle Concealer: This concealer can be a little drying but if you use a good eye cream or primer (like the e.l.f. Hydrating Under Eye primer), this concealer is really nice. I use it as a corrector and layer another on top, usually the Maybelline Age Rewind. Huge life saver with some major dark circles this month.

Tarte Maracuja Oil: I finished up the fresh Seaberry Oil and now I’m on to this mini sample. This seems to soak up a little faster than the Seaberry, which I like, and has a lighter texture.

Benefit Creaseless Cream Shadow – RSVP: Not only do I love this color, but I also love the formula. Even with my hooded, oily lids, this formula doesn’t make my mascara transfer at all. Big win.

e.l.f Contour Palette: I haven’t fully played around with all of the colors, but I would definitely repurchase this palette just for the color that I starred in the picture. I am guilty of trying to make too dark bronzers/contours work, but this color is perfect. I’ve been going in with it as my bronzer/contour and I love this tone because it is very neutral.

Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller: This is such an underrated product at the drugstore. It’s light formula is easy to work with and it has pretty great coverage for light makeup days.

EcoTools Precision Blush Brush: This brush has been my go-to brush with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. I like to use a really soft brush with this since it seems to be kicking up a little more powder as I’m getting further into the pans. I’ve been using the shade on the left to set my entire face this month and have really liked how my skin has been looking with that. I’ve also been using the middle shade as a “base highlight” and layering another on top. I can’t stress enough how awesome this palette is. It is so worth the splurge with all of it’s uses.

Happy December! I cannot believe how quickly this year went by. For those of you in the US, I hope all of had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It was so nice to be home, relax, and see all of my family. I also made a quick trip to Ulta, so if you came over here from my Instagram, here are the details you were looking for!

First thing from Ulta was on my Holiday Wish List. The Becca Radiant Glow set from Ulta is so gorgeous. At first I thought the Moonstone highlighter was a little small, but then I reminded myself just how hard it is to hit pan on a highlighter in the first place! I’m still figuring out if I like the corrector or not, but I love the Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector and the lipgloss!

Becca Radiant Glow Holiday Set

The next thing I got from Ulta was the It! Cosmetics CC+ This has been something I’ve wanted to try for a long time now but never wanted to splurge. I thought this would be great for a “foundation” in the winter though to help with my dry skin. I got the Light shade, or so I thought, but when I went home there was a Medium in the box! I switched it out no problem the next day. Anyway, I think I could’ve gotten Fair but I was nervous that was too ashy. It photographed well when I went out over Thanksgiving, even with SPF50. So far though, I’m really liking it a lot!

It Cosmetics CC+

Last, I thought I’d throw in a belated VIB Sale haul!

I got three things from the VIB sale. First, I got the Nirvana White Perfume set, also from my Holiday Wish List. I’ve had the rollerball which is pretty much gone, so I was very excited about the value of this set, along with getting the 20% off.

Nirvana White Perfume Set

I picked up this set on a whim because my skin was having a freak-out when I was in there. I’ve only used one so far, but I will do a mini Instagram review or something when I try them all.

Origins Mask Set

Last thing I got was another Dry-Bar Triple Sec. SMELL THIS STUFF if you can. And then buy it.

Hope you all have a great last month of 2015!

Happy Sunday! I hope all of you have had a great weekend. I had a nice surprise in the mail yesterday when I got my Colour Pop order that wasn’t supposed to arrive until tomorrow! I finally caved and made my first order when I saw the FREE shadow ‘Birthday Girl’ because it is just so stunning. Look up a video on Instagram because my swatch doesn’t even begin to do it justice. Let’s see what I ordered!

When you make your first order you get $5 off so make sure to sign up for that and wait for the email to come…it took about a half hour for me.

Colour Pop Lippie Stix Swatches - Lumiere, Button, Flawless | Bolt Blogs

The color shown in the tube is a little off but the swatches are true to color. Lumiere is stunning and I’m so happy I got it. It’s definitely a color right up my alley. Button is the most flattering peach I have ever tried on. Most peach shades look terrible on my skin tone but this one doesn’t make me look washed out at all. Flawless is…flawless. I’m so excited to rock this deep pink/purple.

Colour Pop Stole The Show, Prenup Swatches | Bolt Blogs

When the highlighters launched recently, I immediately knew I wanted one. I ended up with Stole the Show, which has a few flecks of real shimmer. I’m weary of saying “glitter” because people might freak out but this shade is not for the faint of heart. The blush is the most beautiful pink shade with a bit of rose and some shimmer.

Not to be dramatic, but I’m an English major and I don’t even have words for this

Bill and Birthday Girl

Colour Pop Birthday Girl, Bill Swatches | Bolt Blogs

Like I said, my swatches aren’t doing these shades justice, but you get a general idea of the colors. Bill is a really pretty cool-toned matte plum. On my lid, it veered more pink initially but I layer a taupe shade on top and it was beautiful.

Tell me, what are your favorite Colour Pop colors?

I have been a loyal Benebabe since my first benefit purchase. I was in my early teens when I developed an interest in experimenting with makeup. I used a tinted moisturizer but wanted a little something extra to help perfect my skin. In Ulta my search quickly became overwhelming due to my lack of knowledge about the rows of numerous face products. My mom, who is not a huge makeup person, didn’t know where to guide me exactly either. We walked down the block to the new Benefit store, and I fell in love.

The woman at the counter was helpful, sat me down, and went over all of my options with me. I settled on the Some Kind-a Gorgeous Foundation Faker (great compact – cream to powder) and was instantly sold on the company as a whole. I loved the packaging, the atmosphere, the customer service, and most importantly, the products.

I wanted to put a list together of my Top 5, but really struggled. So here are my Top 7, with an honorable mention to my Fluff Shadow Brush. Unfortunately, it no longer seems to be sold. I apologize for including something you can’t buy, but I use it on a daily basis so I couldn’t go without mentioning it.

High Beam ($26): Liquid highlight

Liquid luminousness. That’s what this product is. When I’m in a hurry, I mix together 2 parts tinted moisturizer and 1 part That Gal with a few drops of High Beam and my face has a healthy glow. When I have time for a full face, I use it to more strategically highlight my face i.e. cheekbones, brow bone, cupid’s bow (I wouldn’t recommend using it down the center of your nose). It’s my favorite liquid highlighter.

That Gal ($29): Brightening face primer

I swear by this brightening face primer. In my opinion, it’s the best. I think it is slightly hydrating so it’s perfect for the winter but by no means greasy in the summer. I mix it in with my tinted moisturizer when I am pressed for time and I think it adds that extra “oomph” my face needs. If I have ever applied too much concealer, I use this to blend it out and it looks less cakey. It might seem counterintuitive to add a product to an area where you want less, but trust me, it works.

They’re Real ($23): Falsies without the falsies mascara

I hated this mascara at first. I thought it was just terrible. A year later, I got a sample size in a gift set (I received as a gift) and gave it a second try. I fell in love. I don’t know what was different this time around, but something changed. It makes my stick straight lashes hold a curl with separation and volume.

Erase Paste ($26): Brightening concealer

I have terrible purple discoloration under my eyes. I also have dry under eyes. This is my ticket. I still have to use an eye cream with this product, or at least make sure I have That Gal on underneath. This concealer really does brighten with its peachy undertones. Note: you do have to set this concealer, use a light powder and light hand because it is a thicker concealer and you don’t want too many products layered under your eyes.

POREfessional ($31): Pore blurring primer

I love this primer. It makes my skin silky smooth and leaves a lovely canvas for your foundation whether it is liquid or powder. I only have a sample size at the moment but I will be purchasing the full size when I run out.  I concentrate on having it in my T-zone and then just blend out from there.

Hervana ($28): Pinky boxed blush

It is shameful how much stress this decision gave me: which blush do I include? I do own/have owned: Coralista, Bella Bamba, Hervana, Dandelion, and Rockateur. I love them all so much. The only reason I grabbed for this was because the color of the year is “Radiant Orchid” and this blush fits in so well with that. I use Coralista and Dandelion year round. They are great no matter what. I used Rockateur from the time it came out up until pretty recently when I started back up with Coralista and Hervana. I like wearing Bella Bamba best when I have a little more color in my face during the summer. I love them all and you won’t be disappointed with any of them!

*Bonus points: they are all slightly scented and have a matching lip-gloss!

Gimme Brow ($22): Brow-volumizing gel

I like big brows and I cannot lie. This brow gel gives me just that. The light/medium matches my brow color exactly but I went with the medium/deep because I wanted something slightly darker to give me bolder brows. I also bought this when I was wearing darker lips for the fall and winter, so I wanted my brows to help balance everything out. It is not too dark with a nude lip, though. It tames, appears to thicken, and adds a nice tint.

*Tin is from the 2013 Holiday Collection set
