Happy Monday! I hope all of you had a lovely month of February. This month I didn’t have too many new things in my favorites. My daily staples are still what was in my January Favorites. There were 2 body products I couldn’t not talk about this month though and a few others, so let’s get to it:

February Favorites 2016 | Bolt Blogs

The Body Shop Almond Hand & Nail Butter: Awhile back I talked about how The Body Shop discontinued the Almond Body Butter but I was so happy to find the Hand & Nail Butter in the same scent! I’m unsure how new/old this is, but I must have overlooked it before. My friend told me that the L’Occitane almond products smell great so I still need to give those a sniff next time I can!

Benefit They’re Real Mascara: I have a love/hate relationship with this mascara. Right now, we’re getting along. I can only use this as a second coat mascara, it doesn’t work on its own for me.

YSL Tint-In-Oil #5: This is the best hybrid between a stain, gloss, and moisturizing lip treatment. So gorgeous.

L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow – Amber Rush: These eyeshadows are stunning. I definitely need a base with these but the color is the prettiest rose gold with an almost metallic finish. You can see me wearing the Tint-In-Oil and the eyeshadow here.

MAC Brave: This was such a staple for me this month. It was perfect with every look and I wore it a ton.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation: I feel like this foundation is highly underrated and doesn’t get enough hype! It has a very natural finish, not too dewy and not too matte. I have 10 Classic Ivory and it leans much more yellow than most light foundations do, which many of you fair toned girls with warm undertones might welcome. I mix a touch of my The Body Shop lightening drops in to make the tone match me a little better, but I’ve really been enjoying this foundation a lot.

Sonia Kashuk Yellow Alluriana Exfoliating Body Polish: GO SMELL THIS! For starters, this scent is right up my alley. The package says it’s a “grapefruit with musk,” which is spot on. It almost reminds me a little of Nirvana White, so if you like that you’ll love this. I also love the consistency of this scrub. It’s like a thick paste so it doesn’t just slide off as you’re washing in the shower and you have some time to actually work with it and give yourself a good scrub. I couldn’t find the body polish specifically online so I just linked to the entire line on Target’s website!

Hope you all have a month full of love! xoxo

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great start to your 2016 and an awesome first month! I missed last month’s favorites because I was super busy, so I have a lot to catch up on for this month!

Bolt Blogs January Favorites

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector – Moonstone: I got this mini size in the Radiant Glow Collection from Ulta, which is still available. You can read a full review on the kit here. I’ve been super into using this as my main highlight and then going over it with Champagne Pop to really add a lot of light. I know I don’t need pearl, but the obsession with these is strong…

Wet 'n Wild Contour Dulce de Leche Swatch

Wet ‘n Wild Contouring Palette – Dulce de Leche: I’ve really been searching for a cooler toned contour color but don’t do a proper contour often enough to make a splurge on something high end (I normally just lightly contour with Chocolate Soleil). When I found this at walmart, I was super excited to give it a try. The tone is perfect for me. This does kick up some powder, but it’s not a huge deal. I would recommend starting light and then building the color because it is pretty pigmented, but blends beautifully. The light shade is a little too heavy to set my under-eyes with, but I use it to set my t-zone. Wet ‘n Wild nailed this one. I really like using it with the BH Cosmetics brush. I got it in a set and unfortunately it isn’t sold individually but wanted to show what I’ve been using.

BareMinerals 5 in 1 BB – Radiant Sand: I think these are the most underrated beauty product on the market. I got the color Blushing Apricot and after falling in love got the color Radiant Sand. This color is so beautiful if you take a minute to create a nice gradient with layering and a fluffy synthetic brush. The formula is the perfect consistency and stays in place on my hooded, oily lids all day long!

It! Cosmetics CC+ – Light: I am so in love with this CC Cream. My only complaint is that the color is pretty off, but that’s where the next product comes in. Fair was too ashy but light is too dark…I really wish they had more colors in this product. Anyway, the coverage on this for a CC cream is unbelievable. Obviously it breaks up a little faster than a foundation but using a primer really helps.

The Body Shop Lightening Drops Swatch

The Body Shop Lightening Drops: When these drops first came out, I lost it. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten the lightest shade in a foundation and it’s still too dark! The Body Shop came out with Lightening and Darkening drops so you can adjust your foundation shades instead of having multiple shades in a foundation to fit you throughout the year. My only complaint with these is that it does make the product you’re working with a little more matte. Since the lightening shades have a pink undertone, I’m unsure how it would work on those who have warmer undertones.

L'Oreal la Palette Nude 1 Swatches

L’Oreal La Palette Nude 1: When I picked up this palette for $3 (read how here), I wasn’t going to be too upset if I didn’t like it, but there are a few colors in here I really enjoy. Overall, I don’t think I’d spend $20 on this palette but if you can use coupons or get a sale, I think it’s worth considering. I wish the colors were a little smoother to blend. There is one shade in the palette that is a total standout – it’s a bronze shade with a lot of brown and a gorgeous gold shimmer.

Nip+Fab Viper Venom Primer: Nip+Fab kindly sent me this primer and their new frown fix, which is also from the same line. The primer is very cooling and even a little hydrating but really smoothes out my skin and helps the makeup stick. I like that it doesn’t have a silicon feel because I hate primers that feel slippery.

If you made it to the end, thank you! Those are all of my favorites this month and I would love to hear yours! xoxo

What a month! I always want to enjoy December more than I feel like I get to. It just always feels so rushed and then all of a sudden it’s the holiday and then it’s done! Listening to Christmas music always gets me in the spirit, along with my pine scented candle! Let’s get into what I was loving!

Bolt Blogs December Favorites

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette: I think people either love this or don’t think it does enough and return it. I got mine during the VIB sale and am so so glad I did. I use the shade on the left for setting my under-eyes (it doesn’t looked caked or powdery), the middle for highlighting, and the right for adding a little warmth on my cheeks.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream: I am a huge fan of this eye cream. It is very hydrating but lightweight which makes it perfect for going underneath makeup.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow – Sin: I just use my finger to pop this in my inner corner and brighten things up! I also have a drugstore dupe for this product here!

Physician’s Formula Multi-Colored Bronzer: PF just knows how to do bronzers! This is my second one of these bad boys. It isn’t too orange and is just a great bronzer! (not contour)

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment: This is a mini from the Sephora Favorites and I love it! It comes off like a warm pinky, really just enhances whatever your lip color naturally is. Great balm for the cold.

October was such a busy month! I fell in love with two products I had formerly written off, so let’s talk about them!

October Favorites | Bolt Blogs

Makeup Forever Lipstick in Copper Pink: I talked about this in my Moisturizing Fall Lippies post (you can see a swatch there). It is such a beautiful color and isn’t a drying lipstick. I might highly consider getting a full size of this one day.

Benetint: I never “got” this product, until now. It was so neglected in my makeup drawer. I talked about this in my 5 Product Fresh Face post and really have found how I like to use/apply it best:

  • Lips: I swipe it on and blend out with my finger
  • Cheeks: Dot it on and blend it out with my e.l.f. small stipple brush

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind: I was so disappointed by this concealer. It’s all the rave and everyone loves it, but I didn’t. Something changed this month. I found I like it best over foundation and not just applied directly to my moisturized skin. It can really be built up and is nice for highlighting. I used half this month!

Essie Nail Polish in Forever Yummy: I got on a nail painting kick this month and painted my nails this color twice! It is such a pretty red and I have found that my Essie nails last the longest without chipping.

Pop Lip Magnet Primer: I got this product awhile ago on HauteLook but never really turned to it. I’ve been wearing lipstick a little more frequently and have found this is nice to prep lips instead of chapstick, which can tend to make your lipstick slide.

August Favorites | boltblogs.com

Hello all! I’m still not back in an official posting routine quite yet but I wanted to share a few of my August Favorites!

This Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara is amazing! Lots of length and separation but sometimes it smudged if I didn’t set my under eye concealer well. Other than that, no complaints.

I’ve also been wearing my Nars lipgloss in Orgasm just by itself for the lips. For the face I was wearing my Physicians Formula BB Cream (a little thick but manageable) with my Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste. For blush I just wanted a little color on the cheeks so I was picking up my Too Faced Sweetheart blush.

I hope everyone had a great month!
