Happy Sunday! I hope all of you have had a great weekend. I had a nice surprise in the mail yesterday when I got my Colour Pop order that wasn’t supposed to arrive until tomorrow! I finally caved and made my first order when I saw the FREE shadow ‘Birthday Girl’ because it is just so stunning. Look up a video on Instagram because my swatch doesn’t even begin to do it justice. Let’s see what I ordered!
When you make your first order you get $5 off so make sure to sign up for that and wait for the email to come…it took about a half hour for me.
The color shown in the tube is a little off but the swatches are true to color. Lumiere is stunning and I’m so happy I got it. It’s definitely a color right up my alley. Button is the most flattering peach I have ever tried on. Most peach shades look terrible on my skin tone but this one doesn’t make me look washed out at all. Flawless is…flawless. I’m so excited to rock this deep pink/purple.
When the highlighters launched recently, I immediately knew I wanted one. I ended up with Stole the Show, which has a few flecks of real shimmer. I’m weary of saying “glitter” because people might freak out but this shade is not for the faint of heart. The blush is the most beautiful pink shade with a bit of rose and some shimmer.
Not to be dramatic, but I’m an English major and I don’t even have words for this
Bill and Birthday Girl
Like I said, my swatches aren’t doing these shades justice, but you get a general idea of the colors. Bill is a really pretty cool-toned matte plum. On my lid, it veered more pink initially but I layer a taupe shade on top and it was beautiful.
Tell me, what are your favorite Colour Pop colors?
I cannot rave enough about L.A.B.2Beuaty. These brushes are so soft, very well made, and hold up. L.A.B.2 was kind enough to send me this blush brush and I am so excited about it.
It is very, very dense and rounded but has a definite point. It’s perfect to pop color right on the apples of your cheeks but then blend it out. I have a feeling I’ll use this a lot with the bronze/blush shade in the e.l.f. Light Blush Palette, using the point to concentrate it in the hallows of my cheeks and blending forward.
L.A.B.2Beauty also just launched their blog, which you can check out here. It’s sort of like a Beauty Pinterest Board with other amazing bloggers who love to create.
Genuinely, I love supporting companies with great costumer service and who stand for something good (cruelty free, brush trade-in drives)! I have not been asked to talk about any of this but really want to because I think more people should know about this growing company! Hop on the train so you can say you were ahead of the curve 😉
September was a pretty good month! I’ve been enjoying rediscovering some neglected products since I’ve been on my no-buy and have busted out my favorite rose blush again!
Benefit Rockateur Boxed Blush: I forgot just how much I loved this blush. Most of the month I was just bronzing all over and then layering this on top. It’s beautiful and perfect for Fall.
Revlon Lip Butter – Sugar Frosting: When I needed something on my lips but didn’t know what to do, on this went. It’s just a nice and easy pinky-nude.
Benefit Gimme Brow: I was all for darker lashes this month and went with my one-step gimme brow
e.l.f. Smudge Pot – Back to Basics: This color is a penny. It’s a penny in cream form. This with a little matte brown in the crease and you’re all set.
Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller: This is such an easy no-fuss concealer for me. You can check out more about what I think about it here.
What were you loving this month??
I wanted to create a makeup bag that would be ideal for someone just getting into makeup or a minimalist. A lot of times, you can find things even cheaper with promos (especially CVS) and sales (sign up for the e.l.f.’s emails). Obviously, leave out anything you don’t need/like to customize it. I hope you enjoy!

Hello all! I’m still not back in an official posting routine quite yet but I wanted to share a few of my August Favorites!
This Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara is amazing! Lots of length and separation but sometimes it smudged if I didn’t set my under eye concealer well. Other than that, no complaints.
I’ve also been wearing my Nars lipgloss in Orgasm just by itself for the lips. For the face I was wearing my Physicians Formula BB Cream (a little thick but manageable) with my Benefit Cosmetics Erase Paste. For blush I just wanted a little color on the cheeks so I was picking up my Too Faced Sweetheart blush.
I hope everyone had a great month!
