There is a shelf in one of my cabinets that looks like a mini Bath & Body Works. I know some people love having a signature scent to burn, but I like the scents to match the season. I wanted to share my three favorite candles that I’m excited to burn (hopefully with the windows open) very soon:
Bath & Body Works – Mango Coconut Cooler: My boyfriend’s mom gave me this candle and it smells like a tropical vacation, without being fake or overly sweet. I can’t find it online at the moment, but keep your eyes peeled in stores!
Bath & Body Works – Georgia Peach: This is the most delicious sweet peach scent. I burn through 2-3 of these in the spring and summer.
Milk Handmade – Meyer Lemon: I went to The Wicker Collective over the weekend and picked up two candles from Milk Handmade. I’m currently burning Paloma, which I love, but this one might smell even better. This candle smells just like an Italian Lemon Cookie, perfect for the kitchen.
Happy first day of Spring! In case you weren’t aware, Ulta kicked off their 21 Days of Beuaty yesterday and the deals are amazing! There aren’t a ton of new launches I’m excited about right now, so I thought I’d show you what I’m planning on purchasing during the three-week sale:
Saturday, March 25: Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara ($10 normally $21)
Sunday, March 26: Becca Backlight Priming Filter ($19 normally $38)
Friday, March 31: Smashbox Priming Water ($16 normally $32)
Sunday, April 2: Shiseido Eyelash Curler ($10 normally $20)
Friday, April 7: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush – Peaceful ($14 normally $28)
I’m not sure that I’m going to get everything on this list, but I know that I’ll definitely grab the two primers and the eyelash curler. What are you snagging during the sale? Let me know!
I’m the last person to board the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit Train. All of her Glow Kits are beautiful, but none have ever really stood out enough for me to buy. My normal go-to highlighters are Becca Opal, Champagne Pop when I’m a little more tan, and ColourPop’s Stole The Show. Since so many people were disappointed with the holiday Glow Kits I was a little nervous about this one, but something told me I had to go for it. Plus, Nicole sisters need to stick together.
I was lucky enough to snag this in stores before it launched thanks to an amazing associate at Sephora. I was so excited I didn’t even swatch it to test it out. I walked straight up to the counter and headed outside for a Boomerang. The packaging looks like cotton candy dumped in glitter. Sign me up.
In the pan, these shades look very glittery. I was nervous that they’d feel dry but these are some of the creamiest powders I have ever worked with. In most palettes there’s always one dud but all of these are buttery goodness.
I thought that Forever Lit would be my go-to shade but I’ve worn Forever Young almost every single day since I purchased this palette. To apply, I finish my makeup, generously apply my setting spray and then go in with my highlighter before it’s dry to really make everything pop. The other day one of my coworkers said she could see my highlighter from across the room – the highest compliment you can give a makeup junkie.
T-B: Kitty Kat | Forever Young | Daydream | Forever Lit | Glo Getter | 143
Kitty Kat and Forever Young are not as similar as they appear in the swatches. Kitty Kat has a touch more gold with a peach base and Forever Young has more silver with a neutral to cool base. Glo Getter and 143 are far too dark to ever be a highlighter on me but are stunning on the center of the lid.
In case you haven’t already figured it out, yes, the Anastasia Beverly Hills x Nicole Guerriero Glow Kit is absolutely worth the hype. If you can find a way to get your hands on it, run toward the register and don’t look back.
Today I wanted to share with you a quick post about how I’ve worked on clearing up my winter skin. I’ve been struggling with very unbalanced skin the last few months and finally feel like I have it under control. My skin was dry and flaky but still producing a lot of oil. With a new facial oil cocktail and some gentle products, I’m happier with my skin now than I’ve been in awhile. This isn’t my full routine (my medicine cabinet is actually embarrassing), but these are great products to add if you need to mix things up.
Ole Henriksen Truth Serum and Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Oil: I first tried this serum back in July from Influenster and it has been a staple in my skincare routine ever since. It really plumps the skin and adds an extra boost of moisture. To help with the extremely dry patches I was experiencing, I started mixing in a drop or two of the oil, which smells like Pez candy. The oil absorbs beautifully into the skin and plays well under foundation.
e.l.f. Exfoliating Scrub: This scrub reminds me of Lush’s Let the Good Times Roll. It’s an extremely gently exfoliant that doesn’t dry you out, perfect for sensitive skin.
Origins Checks and Balances Face Wash: I use this face wash to help when I’m producing more oil, especially around that time of the month. It does leave your face feeling a little tight, but your skin feels super clean after.
NIP+FAB No Needle Fix Eye: If you’re in the UK, you’re in luck and can purchase this eye gel. I was kindly sent this from NIP+FAB and have noticed a considerable difference in the one rather deep-set wrinkle I have under each eye (I’m not gentle enough when I put in my contacts). Since I don’t know where to purchase this in the US, I’m afraid to run out. In the meantime, it’s fabulous.
No7 Early Defence Night Cream: This is my second night cream from No7 and it is just lovely. It feels so luxurious, but with a mid-range price point, you don’t have to feel guilty about taking care of your skin. It’s lightweight but extremely hydrating, perfect for those who want a do-it-all nighttime moisturizer.
