Shop my looks with the “Shop With Me” tab in the menu

While it may feel too early to talk about holiday shopping, October is my favorite time to start shopping for Christmas gifts. Summer items are on super clearance and fall items are marked down to make way for holiday products. If you can wrap your head around there being only two months left in 2017, the Rebecca Minkoff Sample Sale is a great time to stock up (hello, $25 cardholder stocking stuffers).

Yes, I did indeed get two of the same sweater, because I’m that person. It’s super soft and has the cutest side slits. It runs large, so I got an XS. I’ll probably style mine with a long tank underneath and skinny jeans with boots.

The Rebecca Minkoff store in Chicago on Oak Street is currently lined tables and filled with endless rows of bags. It’s kind of like heaven. The sale started yesterday so it wasn’t picked over, but I imagine it’ll be looking rough come the middle of the week.

I own the grey back at the center of this photo and it’s one of my absolute favorites. You can check it out in blush, grey or black. It’s a great size for carrying everything that you need without looking overly bulky.

Happy shopping!

It’s officially fall and now it’s just time for Chicago to get the memo and cool off. I took advantage of Macy’s triple points this weekend and also stopped by Macy’s for a super fun event with Shai from Drunk on Shoes. I just did a huge closet and makeup clear out and it feels super nice to have a lighter closet. I really love the few pieces I got and am excited to try and style them a bunch of different ways to recycle the looks.

If you’re catching this blog post early, go check out my Instagram story for a try-on haul.

The ruffle-sleeve cardigan comes in SIX colors. I bought a large because the sleeves on the medium were a bit too tight.

The flannel is super soft and fits like a glove. I’m wearing a small below. There was a big difference between the small and the medium so if you’re in-between sizes, I’d size down. The turtleneck sweater comes in two colors and I’m also wearing a small.

I’m headed off on a four day work trip and was really stressing over what to pack. My top concern was how to stay comfortable with a jam-packed schedule while still looking cute and professional. I’m super happy with what I put together, so stay tuned on Instagram if you want to each outfit. Click on any of the items in the image below for more details:

Here’s what to pack for your next work trip:

  1. Carry-all tote for all of your necessities
  2. Dry shampoo because sleep
  3. A long-wearing foundation with a natural finish for minimal touch ups
  4. Comfortable block heels so you can keep moving on your feet
  5. A sleep mask so your hotel feels a little bit more like home
  6. A cute power bank to keep your phone and iPad charged throughout the day
  7. Dark-wash jeggings that match any top and can switch from day to night
  8. Tunics and tops that won’t wrinkle so you don’t have to steam
  9. Extra pouches to carry your headphones or business cards
  10. Multi-tasking tools that straighten and curl so you can pack light

While most of you are probably glad the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is coming to an end, I’m pretty sad. I’m still trying to get the Topshop Stripe Cardigan, so I hope I can scoop that up before it goes full price!

When I was shopping through the sale, I noticed some look-for-less dupes within, so I thought I would round them up. This is always my favorite part of People Magazine, so let me know if you like these posts too!

Stand-out favorites: Those $65 sneakers are WATERPROOF! The bell-sleeve sweater also comes in 10 colors, so I’ll probably pick up one or two for the fall and winter. If I could, those Oscar de la Renta earrings are a silky wonder (literally, they’re silk). A girl can dream…

Today’s the day! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017 has gone public! I had an absolute blast this weekend shopping at Nordstrom and putting this post together. I was thinking about how much I’ve been talking up the Nordstrom Sale lately when this showed up in my Timehop. It’s simply a fact of life – I love Nordstrom.

I included all of the sizes I’m wearing to help you get an idea of what size you might be.

I live in leggings and Zella makes my favorites. I wash mine on delicate and hang dry them on a rack. My oldest pair is nearly 4 years old and they still look so good that I wear them to work. I’m wearing a Medium in everything pictured.

I ended up going with a different pair of Toms booties, but a week later and I still find myself thinking about these peep-toe heels. The Gentle Souls sneakers are SO comfortable, but be sure to size up! I had to go up a full size.

There is so much hype surrounding Barefoot Dreams® and how soft their blankets and sweaters are. I wasn’t planning on purchasing one of these but when I stopped through lingerie (side note: bra shopping is the worst), I slipped one on. Big mistake. This only comes in two sizes: S/M and L/XL. They only had the larger of the two, but I actually really liked how slouchy it fits.

Who doesn’t love a dress with pockets? This dress is definitely on the pricier side, but I can see it transitioning through all of the seasons really well – pair it with tights in the winter, a light scarf in the spring, sandals in the summer and a great leather jacket in the fall. I’m wearing a Medium.

Now, HOW have I never tried Madewll jeans? The fabric is so incredibly soft and the high rise is super comfortable. I’m a 29. The linen tee is also from Madewell, perfect for throwing on when you want to look cute without really trying. I’m wearing a Medium.

Last but not least, my favorite top that I tried on. This ruffle top made me feel both feminine and professional. The slightly stretchy fabric and wide bell sleeves let you move comfortably so you don’t feel constricted at your desk or out for dinner. This was my first time wearing AG Jeans and I really liked how they fit. I’m wearing a Medium in the Sincerely Jules top and a 30 in the AG Ex-Boyfriend jeans.

Also, big shoutout to Nordstrom Oakbrook for always having such great customer service!
