Sitting down to write this post, I feel very lucky. Since today is Thanksgiving (it will be Friday when you’re reading this), I just want to say how thankful I am for you. I’ve been presented with so many exciting opportunities because of everyone that follows this blog of mine and I am very thankful for your support.

Now, let’s talk about the products that that helped with my face this month!

November Favorites | Bolt Blogs

The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist: I absolutely love the Vitamin E line from The Body Shop. I definitely need to do an in depth review of this line. The packaging says to use this to set makeup, but I’ve been using it before I apply makeup and in-betwen layers to help everything mesh together and look natural. It’s a very fine mist and I really like the rose scent.

L’Oreal Voluminous Miss Manga – Waterproof: WOW! Seriously this stuff is no joke. I have never been wowed like this with a mascara before. You can see my tweet here showing just how crazy it makes my lashes look.

ColourPop Stole the Show: I’ve been on a Champagne Pop kick but got back into this highlighter this month and hit pan! You can see a swatch of the color here.

elf Berry Merry Blush: This blush kind of reminds me of a fall version of Nars Orgasm. It’s a super pretty rose and is very highlighting as well. It’s a little deeper than Benefit Rockateur and they’re in the same color family if that’s a helpful reference point. It’s very pigmented, so use a fluffy brush and light hand. Thank you for this gorgeous blush, elf!

BareMinerals 5 in 1 BB – Blushing Apricot: My mom passed this along to me from her own makeup bag and I am very lucky she did. She decided to steer away from this because of the shimmer. It’s just enough that it might  accentuate fine lines on mature skin. This primer does a great job neutralizing my lid, something I never knew I really wanted until I tried the L’Oreal Magic De-Crease…

L’Oreal Magic De-Crease: When I finished my Nars eyelid primer, I knew it’d be hard to find something to beat it but didn’t want to spend the money on the Nars again. I tried this because I had a L’Oreal coupon and am really impressed with how well it works. While I notice a little creasing around the 4-5 hour mark, there isn’t any visible oil, just a little line in my shadow  (I have oily and hooded lids so it’s a difficult combo). What’s really sold me on this though is that it seems to color correct a little on my lids too, which I really like.

Phew, all done! Lots of favorites this month so thanks for sticking with this post if you’re still here. I hope all of you had a great month and holiday. Now on to December! xoxo

Ah October brought so much happiness! As much as I’m not a fan of the weather, October-February are some of my favorite months of the year because while they’re busy, there are so many fun things to look forward to. Iowa has been rainy the last two weeks but I’m excited for all of the super makeup goodies I had fun playing with this month!

October Favorites 2015 | Bolt Blogs

Hourglass Ambient Edit: I LOVE this palette. I’ve talked about it a lot on IG so I won’t bore you too much on here, but I basically think it is worth the value. Here’s why: buying all of these individually would cost…I don’t even know but guessing the number is making me choke. I think that if you have a larger collection, you’ll never go through anyone of these shades. If you don’t, I think it’s a great way to sample some high-end products. The pans are a little small but my brushes all fit fine as long as I take an extra moment of care.

NIP+FAB Kale Fix Moisturizer: Let’s get this out there – this stuff smells like kale that’s a day too old to eat. BUT it is probably my favorite moisturizer I’ve ever used. I was kindly sent this line by NIP+FAB and I plan on doing a full review of these soon. I can say I will definitely be repurchasing this moisturizer when I’m done, the other two I’m on the fence about. It is a very thick moisturizer, almost like a cream. I have combo skin and it works fine under foundation as long as I use a primer. A primer with this one is a must, at least in the T-zone. I would honestly rather have extra oil shine through throughout the day rather than look dry and cakey.

UD All Nighter Setting Spray: I don’t think that this sets my makeup any better than the L’Oreal one I love, but the cooler factor is a nice added bonus. I don’t think I would buy this over the L’Oreal but having it around is definitely nice!

NYX Dark Circle Concealer – Light: This corrector really brightens up my under-eye area. Disclaimer: I need to use an eye cream though because without it, the corrector can really settle into fine lines. Use this sparingly just where your under eyes are darkest and then go in with a light concealer on top for a totally flawless under eye!

Amika Un.Done Texture Spray: Thank you to my roomie for letting me have her sample of this from Birchbox! I’m always looking for something to give my flat hair lots of volume and texture. This did not weight down my hair and didn’t get my hair too dirty, even in-between washes. I’m not sure if I like it better than the Drybar Triple Sec or B&B Dryspun, but it smells great and is really nice. For all three of these, I’d just say it depends on your scent preference.

elf Tantalizing Taupe: You’re probably sick of hearing me talk about this, but obviously it’s been a favorite this month. It’s super quick and easy plus I tried out the liner shade for my brows and it’s great! It could be easy to go overboard with this but I naturally have dark brows. I just make sure to blend and comb through to distribute the color and I don’t think it’s too dark.

September Favorites 2015 | Bolt Blogs

Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil: I got this little guy as a sample and I’m really enjoying this oil! I normally use an organ oil, but I think having one specifically formulated for your face is nice. It smells very herbal which I find relaxing but could see some people not liking the scent, so I’d try and smell it in the stores if ya can before you purchase!

Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous Powder Foundation: I have been back into this and while it’s hard to tell in this picture, I’ve almost hit pan. I like to use it with my L.A.B.² On a Powder Trip Brush.

Benefit Hello Flawless Liquid Foundation: I haven’t been using this on it’s own but instead I’ve been mixing a pump into two pumps of my normal moisturizer. It mixes well, gives a nice finish to the skin, and adds just enough coverage for the day time.

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker – Nudist: Just purchase this. Really. It’s crazy glossy, the perfect nude/pink, and is just overall gorgeous.

Benefit Rockateur: This blush is such a staple in my life. It is absolutely stunning and couldn’t recommend it enough. It’s pretty much the only blush I use Fall-Winter.

What were your favorites this month?

As always, I can’t believe another month has come and gone. This month was an absolute blur and September is about to be another whirlwind, so here we go. Let’s talk about my faves from this past month:

August Favorites 2015 | Bolt Blogs

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector – Champagne Pop: I don’t think this needs any introduction but just in case…it’s Jaclyn Hill’s collab with Becca. It’s all of the beauty you can imagine and more. I believe they are restocking too…hop on it if you can. If not, check out my Instagram for a dupe! I love using it with the Real Techniques Setting Brush.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Shadow Stick – Rose Gold – This color is so pretty and is great for a golden/bronze smoky eye! I found mine at CVS.

Smashbox BB Cream: This color doesn’t match me perfectly so I dilute it with some regular moisturizer. It’s too yellow but it’s nice to add a little coverage for day to day.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes: I’ve talked about this mascara in the past when I’ve gotten samples (just looked and it was exactly a year ago…you can see a picture in the link) and I’m a really big fan. It lengthens my lashes so much and holds a curl really well.

Butter London Lip Gloss: I thought that I lost this lipgloss and found it in my purse when I was traveling on vacation this summer. This gloss might be too shimmery for some, but I love it. They don’t have this color anymore, but the link to Ulta’s website has other colors.

In case you don’t follow me on Instagram and don’t know, I’m on vacation right now! No time for a long post but here’s a pic of my favorites for the month!

Hope you all had a great month!
