I had a wildly successful makeup month and really got excited about my morning routine again. Check which product below is 50% off on Friday 3-31 at Ulta!

Harvey Prince Organics – Hello: This is my favorite spring/summer scent. The description on Harvey Prince’s website says this perfume has notes of “Meyer Lemon, White Grapefruit, Satsuma Mandarin, Summer Forsythia, Pink Plumeria, Wild Verbena, Tahitian Vanilla, Sensual Musk.” All I know is it smells delicious.

ABH x NG Glow Kits: I won’t go on and on about this, so check out my full review here.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: I’ve fallen in love with this primer once again and am super pumped to pick it up for only $16 tomorrow at Ulta!

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation: If you want to be matte, I mean, super matte, then this is the foundation for you. Normally I am all about the glow but I’ve especially loved this in my t-zone this month. I just picked up the Pro-Glow version so I’ll put together some more in-depth thoughts soon! I am 101 Classic Ivory.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush – Paaarty: This is the mini version from the Sephora Birthday gift and it is so cute! This is the perfect peach-but-not-too orange shade for spring and summer.

Happy first favorites of 2017! I had a great month with some all-new products (not to the world, just me), so let’s dive in:

Origins Checks and Balances Face Wash: This face wash is phenomenal. My skin has been breakout prone lately and I really think this has helped. It makes your skin feel super clean without drying the skin. When I use this in the shower, I let it sit on my skin as a mask.

Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer: This stuff is NO JOKE! It makes your skin smell like a day at the beach and has a beautiful finish on the skin. It is a pretty neutral bronzer, a slight warmth if anything, and so far has played well with my foundations and moisturizers.

Nars Blush – Goulue: Like Orgasm, this blush has a lot of shimmer, but it feels a bit more refined. Goulue reminds me of Orgam’s rosier, slightly classier older sister.

Green People Quinoa & Prebiotics Deodorant: I’ve been wanting to use a natural deodorant for awhile now but have been very skeptical as to how effective they are. I was sent this one to test out and I was certainly proved wrong. Keep in mind, this is not an anti-perspirant, so if you normally perspire, this won’t help. I like the rollerball a lot, plus it’s lightweight and fast drying. I love the scent, it’s very fresh and somewhat herbal. While it does cost more than my normal deodorant, I’m super happy with this product and will continue to repurchase, while trying out some of their other scents. Side note: I also am using the shower gel, which I like, but wouldn’t repurchase because I don’t see the value as much in an organic shower gel.

e.l.f. Beautifully Precise Smudge Brush: If you smoke out your lower lash line, you NEED this brush. The tip does a perfect job at placing the color and the bristles are nice and soft for really blending out the color. Big win.

Excuse my dirty brush…it gets used every morning.

NIP+FAB No Needle Fix – Eye: This eye serum/gel has worked wonders on my under-eye area. Over the last year I’ve started to develop my first deep-set wrinkle under my eyes. I honestly think it’s from years of not being gentle enough while putting in my contacts, so I’m trying to get better at that. Anyway, I started using this product for a few weeks and then stopped to switch over to a sample eye cream I wanted to finish. By the second day, I noticed a difference under my eyes and realized it was because this product was missing.

Now that I’ve hyped this up, the problem is that I can’t find a link to this product anywhere. I’ve contacted NIP+FAB and am working on it. In the meantime, there is a face serum in this line so if you want you can give that a whirl!

Well, this is the last favorites of 2016. I feel like I haven’t done a favorites in awhile, or a blog post in general, which is due to poor planning on my part. I’m making it a goal of mine to post twice a week in 2017 on Tuesdays and Thursdays with even better content. I used to do a great job of planning ahead and staying organized, but lately I’ve been slacking. In a way, I think it’s good because it’s allowed me some time to take a little break.

2016 was a wild year for a lot of people for a lot of reasons. This time last year I was about to become a second semester senior and had zero clue what would happen post graduation. Now, I’m wrapping up 7 months at a job I love and am living in Chicago with my boyfriend. It’s been a good crazy, but crazy nonetheless.

So, let’s hop into some of the things I’ve been loving the last two months:

I have a full review of the Benefit Cheekathon palette HERE. I’ve been pretty lazy the last month and used Dallas as a flush of color on my cheeks as both a bronzer and blush for an easy look

I use either the Hourglass Ambient Lighting (3-pan palette) or the Edit (shown) palette every day. This month, I used the top left and right shades to set my under eye and middle shade to highlight. It’s so convenient having every face powder in one spot. While many people aren’t a fan of the price on these palettes, I think they are 100% worth it.

For concealer I’ve been testing out the Tarte Shape Tape, but for everyday, I mix the Garnier  Skin Renew and Maybelline Dream Lumi in Radiant. The Garnier has a very thin, light texture and the Maybelline has a peach tint to help correct. Mixing the two gives me the best of both worlds.

The Belif Moisturizing Bomb is an amazing face moisturizer, but the Neutrogena Hydro Boost is a great drugstore dupe. This moisturizer sits beautifully under makeup because it helps hydrate without becoming greasy. More than anything, this moisturizer just helped me remember how much I love gel-like moisturizers.

Rounding out 2016 is my favorite perfume, Elizabeth & James Nirvana White. I finished up the 1 oz. bottle of this in November, which lasted me exactly a year, so I decided to go for the next size up during the VIB Sale. Feels great to have my signature scent back in my life.

Here’s to 2017~~~

I’m going to need time to stand still for about 10 minutes. Time’s been flying by since May and even with the long month, things are moving crazy fast. I can’t believe my guy and I have been in our place for a month, mainly because I’m still rearranging things and don’t feel like everything is 100%.

In other news, in case you missed Monday’s post, I started a 100 Day No-Buy yet again. I’ll have some oldies repeated in my next few favorites, but I’m going to make a solid effort to keep things moving so it doesn’t get boring for my face or your reading pleasure. Let’s talk August:

Bare Minerals 5-in-1 BB Cream Eyeshadow – Radiant Sand: I do not understand why these do not receive ALL of the hype as far as a primer/eyeshadow goes. The whipped-like consistency of these dries down quickly, making it the perfect base for other shadows or a stand-alone product.  They are buildable, crazy pigmented and have SPF. Buy one, buy them all, thank me later.

Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Eye Roller: Also not receiving enough hype, this guy. Don’t have time for fuss? This. It does run a little dark but I can make it work in the summer. Works well as a corrector or by itself. I have a very old post about it here.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Split – Prosecco Pop & Pomplemousse: This is a no-joke glow. It’s more golden than what I’d normally go for, but it also makes a great pop at the center of the lid. So pigmented, so creamy, so gorgeous.

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum: I’ve tried a few serums now since adding one to my skincare routine and this one is the only high-end serum I’ve tried that’s worth the money. I want added hydration in my serums without developing excess oil throughout the day. This serum gives me just that, all while smelling like oranges. My skin looks brighter, healthier and this acts as a great base for makeup. You can read more about it here.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush – Exposed: I think everyone should own this blush. It is super flattering and looks very natural. This blush adds a natural hint of color back into your skin and compliments any eye look or lipstick.

I’d love to hear what you were loving this month!

Happy August! I’ve been looking forward to August the entire month of July for two reasons:

  1. I officially live in Chicago!
  2. I’ve been waiting to use my ban.do agenda.

Honestly, I’m not sure which I was most excited for. Anyway, my makeup routine stayed pretty consistent from June but now that I have an extra 2 hours in the morning I’ll be able to play with more makeup again! Here’s what I’ve been loving:

Wet n Wild Contouring Palette – Dulce de Leche: At first, I was not a fan of this highlighting shade. I tried using it under my eyes and it was too cakey. Then, I tried dipping into it to bake one day. I figured it would work well because this powder can kick up a lot of dust and oh my goodness did it work. I took a generous amount on my sponge to sharpen my bronzer (I do this so it doesn’t look muddy) and didn’t even have to blend it away. The powder melted into my skin and I just lightly dabbed over it with my sponge after a few minutes to make sure there weren’t any harsh lines. Beautiful.

Becca – Champagne Pop: There really isn’t much to say about this that hasn’t already been said. Basically, if there’s a part of my skin that’s showing, this is probably on it. I’m not saying I highlighted my shins last week but…

Pure Ice – Tickle Me Pink: This color went on my nails twice in July! It is a perfect dupe for Essie’s Ballet Slippers. You can see it in action here.

Last but not least, two hair favorites: Drybar Detox and my Revlon curling iron. I got this curling iron on clearance at Target for like $16 well over a year ago. Up until the last few months, it went completely unused. I told myself to start using it or throw it away, so I started using it. I can do other people’s hair moderately well but lack the skills to do it on myself. I’ve gone with the “beachy wave” look because it best disguises when I mess up.

I take my hair in sections and spray it with a texturizing spray before curling away from my face. I lightly spray each section with hairspray when I’m done and then comb through it with my fingers. It takes about 15 minutes. If the ends get too curled, I’ll straighten them out a bit. I like there to be a lot of volume but not so much curl. If I sleep on it, I add some Detox to give it more grit. Here it is in action:

There ya go! Super simple. Hope you all had a great month!
